Bio
Patrick is a graduate research student in the Department of Nuclear Engineering and Radiological Sciences at the University of Michigan. He graduated Purdue University with a B.S. in Nuclear Engineering in 2016 and has been working in the field of optical techniques employed for sensing and characterization of nuclear materials since 2014. He interned two summer terms (2015 and 2016) at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory working on detection of trace uranium with laser spectroscopic techniques among other projects. Current projects involve direct application of optical emission spectroscopy for characterizing decay of nuclear spent fuel dry storage casks as well as standoff detection with laser-based techniques.
