Prof. Sara A. Pozzi was elected an Institute of Nuclear Materials Management Fellow in July, 2018, “in recognition of her distinguished contributions to the field of nuclear materials management”. She is recognized as the founding director of the Department of Energy, National Nuclear Security Administration, Consortium for Verification Technology, a 25 M$ consortium of 12 universities and 9 national laboratories dedicated to the development of new technologies for nuclear treaty verification. In this capacity she directs the work of 25 faculty members and 250 students and postdoctoral researchers. She is the co-author of the Monte Carlo code MCNPX-PoliMi, which is being used at over 50 institutions world-wide. In addition to teaching, Prof. Pozzi is a sought-after public speaker, having delivered over 80 invited seminars and talks, at universities and laboratories both nationally and internationally. She was interviewed multiple times by the media in connection with national security and nonproliferation issues; her outreach activities include a recent Reddit Ask Me Anything event that was viewed over 800 times.
