During her Ph.D research, Dr. Di Fulvio worked at the University of Pisa and at the Italian Institute of Nuclear Physics. Her work was focused on the spectrometric and dosimetric characterization of both neutron beams for Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT), within the framework of TRASCO-BNCT project, and photoneutron beams, in collaboration with the European Dosimetry Group. During three years of Postdoctoral research at Yale University, she developed superheated emulsion based detectors for homeland security and nonproliferation applications. Her research interests also include unfolding algorithms and basic physics of radiation interaction in superheated emulsions.
