Kyle Weinfurther completed his B.S.E. and M.S.E. at the University of Michigan in Nuclear Engineering and Radiological Sciences in 2011 and 2012. While at the University of Michigan, he performed research in neutron and gamma-ray multiplicity involving liquid scintillation detectors along with neutron energy correlation from spontaneous fission in Cf-252. Kyle has interned on multiple occasions with the Radiation and Nuclear Detection Systems group at Sandia National Laboratories in Livermore, CA providing detailed simulations and analysis for novel detection systems. Kyle is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Nuclear engineering at North Carolina State University under the advisement of Professor John Mattingly. His current research focus involves characterization an optically segmented single volume neutron scatter camera using Geant4.
